BSUB Base Unit for BS

The BSUB Base Unit for BS, designed by EDIBON, is the central hub of a modular sensor and instrumentation training system. It provides signal conditioning for a wide range of sensor and transducer outputs — including potentiometers, RTDs, thermocouples, and strain gauge bridges — through circuits such as differential and instrumentation amplifiers, filters, and current-to-voltage and frequency-to-voltage converters. The unit also includes a PID controller, industrial controller, and DC dimmer, giving students hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of process control. The BSUB connects to any of the BS series test modules — covering temperature, pressure, flow, vibration, and more — and can operate with one module or several simultaneously, making it a scalable foundation for building out a comprehensive sensors and instrumentation lab.

Benefits

  • Modular, Scalable System — The BSUB serves as the base unit for the full BS series, allowing programs to start with one sensor module and expand over time to cover temperature, pressure, flow, vibration, displacement, and more — without replacing the core unit.
  • Real-World Signal Conditioning — Students work directly with the same types of signal conditioning circuits found in industrial instrumentation environments, building practical skills in amplification, filtering, and signal conversion that translate directly to the workforce.
  • Integrated Process Control Introduction — The built-in PID controller, industrial controller, and DC dimmer introduce students to closed-loop control concepts within the same platform, bridging sensors and instrumentation with process control fundamentals.
  • Flexible, Independent Operation — Each BS test module connects through 2mm front-panel terminals and operates independently from the others, giving instructors the flexibility to run multiple experiments simultaneously or focus instruction on a single variable at a time.
