CTE Starter 2-Drone

Turn your CTE classroom into a dynamic hub for developing industry-ready unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) skills. The Drone Pathways CTE Starter 2-Drone package provides students with a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience covering drone assembly, flight principles, safe UAV operation, and mission planning.

Through structured curriculum and practical exercises, students explore UAV career pathways, drone subsystems, LiPo battery technology, FAA regulations, and flight safety procedures. Using flight simulators and hands-on flight training, students develop essential piloting skills, including pitch, roll, throttle, yaw, visual line-of-sight (VLOS) operations, and precision maneuvers. Collaborative activities introduce crew resource management (CRM), team communication, pre-flight inspections, and mission planning, while scenario-based challenges explore real-world UAV applications in agriculture, power production, infrastructure inspection, and more.

The curriculum also includes FAA TRUST test preparation and culminates in a final flight challenge, allowing students to demonstrate their technical knowledge, teamwork, and operational skills.
